Public Education Works Initiative (PEWI) was initially known as the Centre for Responsive Politics and was actively involved in the Advocacy, Mobilization, Education, and Participation of citizens in Nigeria’s pro-democracy movement. Centre for Responsive Politics was the Secretariat of the Civitas Movement in Nigeria and West Africa.
Today, Public Education Works Initiative has an enlarged Vison and mission. Our Vision is to be a world class Management Consultancy and Accredited Training provider with a Mission to ensure that the Trainings we undertake create a positive and lasting impact on participants by improving their knowledge, skills and attitude thereby making them the Ideal Staff in their organizations and institutions.
We are committed to delivering the highest quality practical training with courses that enthuse and inspire citizens to be more productive and to succeed in their service delivery.
Our trainings for Public and Civil Servants align with the Curriculum of SMAT-P with the goal of producing the Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible, and Citizen-centered (EPIC) Civil Servants envisaged in the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan, 2017 -2020.

Public Education Works Initiative (PEWI) is a non-partisan educational organization, committed to Civic Education in Schools and Communities. We work closely with parents, educational institutions and corporate organizations to institute civic and law-related education programmes in our schools.

To use civic education as a means of empowering young people and fostering a rational commitment to constitutional democracy.
Goals & Objectives
Our primary goals are to: Firstly, Teach the fundamental values, principles, and processes of democracy in primary and secondary schools and in the communities; Secondly, foster the development of competent and responsible participation by young people; and Finally, promote mutual understanding and respect among our youth, teachers and students.
OBJECTIVES
Institutionalization of Civic and Law-related Education: Programmes and activities that share the common objective of creating a citizen-centred interactive curriculum for the next generation, in our Schools, Communities and Workforce.
Develop standards, curricular frameworks and materials, courses, credentialing requirements and education, leadership training and assessment programmes.
Capacity Building: Facilitate capacity building by the creation, adaptation, and implementation of sustainable programmes to address the specific needs of Nigerian Schools, Workforce and Communities.
Professional Development: Organize Professional Development Institutes for Educators, Instructors, Human Resource Personnel for training in the contents and utilization of adult learning and interactive citizen-centered methodologies
Networking – Establishment of and Collaboration: with national and global networks of dedicated Teachers, Civic Educators, Civil Society Organizations, Educational Institutions, Governmental Agencies, organizational development and management practitioners, parents, corporate entities, domestic and international partners. Provide opportunities for Exchange Programmes and Working Tours to other democracies in the world.
Research and Evaluation: Promotion of independent research monitoring and evaluation of curricular materials and content, and the effects of these capacity building and professional development programmes on citizen instruction, knowledge, skills, dispositions, participation and productivity.

Our partners and clientele include – Embassy of the United States of America, Canadian International Development Agency, United Nations Development Programme, The Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited, National Orientation Agency, Rivers State Government, Bayelsa State Government, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, and Federal Ministry of Power.
